Here we have our second entry into The House Style Guide, this week we are talking fabrics, style, the new Ted Baker Alycia coat and just general outfit making. Leather is playing a huge part in this Autumn Winter Season, and the construction of garments pairing up leather with cottons and wools are getting some real attention. The coat and skirt used in this outfit are perfect examples, the coat comes from Ted Baker and is named Alycia, the wool melton fabric provides warmth and durability and the leather we feel adds that touch of class. It’s the same story with the Michael Kors leather side panel skirt another tonal black garment this time using a super soft leather with cotton, beautiful. The cardigan we have chose is also from Ted Baker and name Gwuna, this piece has fantastic lace shoulder panels and sleeves, the rest of the garment is a cotton knit with button fastening. For the rest of this look we have added the Vivienne Westwood seasonal tartan chain bag, with tartan also being a big success story this season we felt this Westwood classic would fit in great, and to finish off we have the Ted Baker Reder Tan Ankle Boot with Gold metal hardware.
The suit maketh the man, well that’s what they say isn’t it, our first style guide entry is what we feel Oliver Twist would wear if he was still around today, however, he is not around anymore and neither are any of his scally wag friends, so we are all safe. The Boss Black Label Reskot three piece suit used for this look has some wonderful features and is crafted from a lightweight brown checked tweed, but the waistcoat does not have the check, hence the guys at Boss Black Label naming the suit ‘broken tweed’. Sitting over this suit we have the Epsom overcoat by those clever chaps at Remus Uomo, the overcoat in general always gives off a presence of sophistication when worn over a suit. This Remus Uomo version does just that, the wool and cashmere mix gives a soft, yet flattering feel and fit. To finishes this stylish light fingered gentlemen we have a big fat, chunky pair of Loake Brogue detail Chelsea boots, superb.
Well can you? Here at The House Designer Wear we’ve been keeping a close eye on the way us chaps wear the Brogues/Socks/Denim look.
Now, let’s start with the basics, what you need this style is some raw denim jeans (Paul Smith) a fantastic pair of country brogues (Loake Shoes) and a perky pair of brightly handsome socks(Paul Smith again).
Once you have these three items, the important part comes into play, “how the hell do I wear them”? And, what type of guy does my choice make me, here’s a few examples (not facts) of what category you may fall into..
So, here we have the Loake Otterburn in a beautiful country brogue, above a Paul Smith raw denim slim fit jean, with no turn ups, rolls, bells or whistles, NO MESSING ABOUT!
Last of all, we have the same three components, but this time we have some major sock flashing going on, as you can see the jeans are rolled well above the ankles. So, what do we think of this take, possibly a bit of a hipster? SUPERSTYLE.
Let us know what man you are…
Well there you go, your first taste of this fall/winter 13 Paul Smith Accessories, mini on location series, so what do you think? Or more importantly can anyone (without the help of google) tell us where this seasons mini is located? …..Thought not!!
Well, in previous seasons the mini has been located in Las Vegas, San Francisco and many more, however, this series the mini has come home and by home we mean right home to Nottingham, the birth place of Sir Paul Smith. The print is taken from outside Nottingham’s Langer Hotel at night.
At The House Designer Wear we love to buy into the series and always look forward to what’s coming next, and we’ve got to say this is the best yet.

Hello Ladies, it’s been a while, and as you know we have been busy reducing prices, well that is coming to an end (sort of) and we feel the time has come to start celebrating what new items, we have coming through The House doors, so toady we present the Ted Baker Merip Sneaker.
Arriving at The House yesterday, we feel this Pony skin effect leather high top needs to be showcased. The Merip is a striking high top sneaker with all the classic Ted Baker trimmings. The mix up of leather, Pony skin, metallic gold PVC and contrast rubber sole maker the Merip a real crowd pleaser, please let us know what you think?
Yes, you heard it here 1st Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 13 is here, yesterday we received a small delivery of Vivienne Westwood garments, this delivery has started off the AW13 season stock on menswear, the items are online now, and we thought you should be the first to know.
Now we got 6 styles of Knitwear delivered at The House, these were Black, Blue, and Burgundy in Crew Neck, and Black, Blue, And Burgundy in V Neck.
On the Knitwear there is Signature Orb logo on the chest, Ribbed detail on the cuff and neck line and the waistband. Long sleeved, 100% of the finest Italian cotton is used on these pieces to make it soft to the touch.
As you can see above, the Vivienne Westwood Knitwear has payed large attention to detail, by making the ribs stand out and grab your eyes, using the chest logo that is larger than usual, again to grab your eyes all of these features make you keep looking at the product. On the sleeves the seam is neat and virtually naked to the human eye, this is a single and a continuous process and adds to the quality. The seamless effect makes the garment last longer on areas of wear, this is because it hasn’t been cut and sewn.
Also to arrive at The House were two shirts, one that you can see in the picture above and online! This shirt is navy and sky check, it is casual enough to wear on your day off and relax, but then formal enough to wear on a special occasion, like a wedding or a party, but most importantly, wear it any time you want, it’s an all day, any day shirt.
The shirt is made out of 100% cotton, in Blue and Sky check with contrasting brown logo embossed Vivienne Westwood MAN logo buttons, single button cuff fastening, and to finish the shirt off in style, just like Vivienne Westwood does, it has the Signature Orb chest logo.

Ever find yourself pondering over where to go for breakfast food in Yarm, or even worse spending ages perusing the menu, not knowing what to go for? Well, we beg you to come and try our eggs benedict, this dish is fantastic and we promise this is Yarm food that will not disappoint.
Eggs benedict, according to legend, was discovered when a wayward stock broker went in search for a hangover remedy at the New York Waldorf Hotel, this happened back in 1894. Lemuel Benedict (the drunk stock broker) sat for a while scratching his sore head then placed an order, he summoned the waiter/waitress and demanded buttered toast, crisp bacon, poached eggs and a hooker of hollandaise sauce, the hotel chef at the time was impressed with the dish and after some small tampering eggs benedict had made the hotel breakfast menu. Oscar Tschirky, the chef substituted the ham for the bacon and swapped the buttered toast with a soft English muffin.
I hope you enjoyed that history lesson, and we shall look forward to serving anyone who wants to try eggs benedict, we have our eggs benedict priced at a reasonable £4.20, look forward to seeing you soon.

Hello Again, We have just came across this fantastic illustrative project, whilst scanning through Highsnobiety, we believe the original source to be from fashion bloggers Four-Pins, who if you haven’t already, take a look at their web space and in particular the brutally honest opinions they give on today’s fashion fads.
We felt the need to post this, as any lover of footwear will appreciate the heritage some of these shoe styles hold.
Take a look at the second illustration, do you think that could possibly be a Loake Brogue, we like to think so, anyway this fantastic work was created by Shea Serrano an innovative illustrator, from Houston Texas, great work.
However, this is not in Loake’s the home town of kettering, not by a long way, this repairing expert has flew all the way to Shinsegae, Korea’s first department store, the Korean’s watch this chap go to work, on the resoling technique, in a good year welted fashion. Watch*now
